Private lessons
Private lessons are the fastest way to progress. I can correct every hand position and technique and guide you through the learning process, saving you from practicing bad habits or developing new ones. Unlike courses, the lessons are tailored to you, I will find out exactly where you want to go and then get you there in the best way possible. Song choices for study can be pretty much up to you, and complete beginners will be amazed at how quickly I can get you playing songs (preferably of your choosing). For a beginner the lessons might not be cheap but you will make seriously fast progress if you put in the practice time!

Practical Approach to Music Theory
Many guitar teachers just teach their students a few chords and a few songs and then their students struggle to play anything beyond the few songs that they know.
Although I do take the song based approach, I also believe that students should not just learn songs, but rather understand how those songs are made, what scales and chords make up the song etc. By breaking down the theoretical and practical concepts behind the songs my students understand how to take what they learn and make it their own.
The Band mentality
I believe that musicians should have an understanding of what other musicians in the band play. This is why I often teach guitarists how to play keys bass and drums as well. This helps my students communicate and play effectively with other musicians
From Beginers to Advanced players
My specialism is advanced rock guitar soloing and techniques along with the practical application of music theory. I also play and teach across a wide range of styles from blues and funk to Jazz.
I have a track record of helping students prepare for music grade exams, and access higher level music courses at College and University. I also think, however that every student should have their own aims and aspirations and my job is to get them there.

The lessons are varied and interesting and all about the music :o). I'd definitely recommend lessons with Dave because if you want to play guitar,
he's an expert and a brilliant teacher. I've come on drastically in my guitar and bass playing and couldn't have done without his teaching.
